Volunteers and Volunteering
The Milam County Railroad Museum is no different than any other museum. It can’t exist without caring, hardworking and dedicated volunteers. Our lifeblood is our staff of volunteers! Each Volunteer is greatly appreciated, and, without them, we would not be open. If you enjoy history, meeting and greeting very nice people and supporting your community and county, PLEASE consider helping us.
Jamie Larson is the Museum Director of the Milam County Railroad Museum. Assisting him are volunteers that give their time, talents and energies. Everyone has a special talent and skill, and we make it all fit together. We focus on our visitors and to having fun. We work together to create new scenes on the layout, make new opportunities for kids and adults through our many activities and share our knowledge with anyone that asks us for help. If we can’t answer a question, we have a vast Railroad library and list of knowledgeable railroad experts to help.
We have no list of positions, but here is a list of things we can always need help with. You do not need to be an expert. In fact, all you need is an interest in learning and we will teach you. That is how we have all learned.
